Design Thinking Process Overview
The Loop
We iterated through the 3 stages of the loop, ensuring we were observing, reflecting, and making constantly.
Observe
Through immersion and understanding.

Reflect
Come together and look within.

Make
Give concrete form to abstract ideas.

Methods
Some of the methods used as we applied Enterprise Design Thinking in our products include:
Observe
-
Moderated Usability Testing
Final Impact
-
Introduced an Enterprise Design Thinking approach to our team: leading a team of 4 through 10+ design thinking workshops that helped us stay user-focused as we worked on our product redesigns. The success of this project impressed stakeholders, and helped justify the need for user testing and for carrying out an iterative approach.
-
Planned and carried out 10 remote, moderated testing sessions via Webex: helping us to identify our users' main pain points and struggles and map out potential solutions.
-
Contributed throughout the full end-to-end process for the product redesigns, working with cross-functional teams involving strategy, design, and development. Ensured products and components stayed consistent with the Carbon Design System.
-
Advocated for accessibility and diversity: identifying accessibility issues within our products and finding appropriate solutions. Expanded our photography library to include people of different abilities, ethnicities, and body types.
Some Final Words
Since the work I did during my time at IBM falls under a confidentiality agreement, I am unable to show direct samples of my designs. However, I am more than happy to expand upon my experience and work.
